GILGAL BIBLICAL SEMINARY (GBS)

Gilgal Biblical Seminary (GBS) began its journey in the Middle East in 2000 as a modest theological study centre. Over the past two decades, it has evolved into a well-structured and highly esteemed seminary, accredited by the Asia Theological Association (ATA) and recognized as a Grade Level IV institution by the Church of God (COG), USA.

The visionary behind this remarkable institution is Rev. Dr. K. O. Mathew, whose dedication, unwavering commitment, and strategic efforts laid the foundation for a seminary focused on biblical and missiological studies in the Arabian Peninsula. His vision has been instrumental in shaping GBS into a premier institution for theological education.

The mission of GBS is to prepare men and women for global and local gospel dissemination by imparting comprehensive theological knowledge rooted in the inerrant, inspired, and infallible Word of God. It aims to produce graduates who will excel as professors, missionaries, pastors, and leaders, empowered by the Holy Spirit and driven by God-given vision.

GBS operates across multiple emirates, including Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai, Sharjah, and Ras Al Khaimah, offering a range of theological programs. Its governance structure consists of the President, Principal, Academic Dean, Registrar, Administrator, and a dedicated team of coordinators and monitors. The faculty comprises highly qualified individuals, including those with doctoral degrees, offering regular and adjunct teaching support. The diverse student body, representing denominations and nationalities such as India, Pakistan, the Philippines, and various African nations, enables practical intercultural and theological learning experiences. Currently, GBS enrolls nearly 300 students across its programs.

  • Certificate in Christian Counselling (in collaboration with API USA)

Distinctive Features:

To accommodate working professionals, GBS conducts evening classes from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM, ensuring accessibility for diverse learners. It also integrates systematic theological studies with practical ministry training. The seminary has recently introduced online classes, enabling students worldwide to access its programs. Graduates from GBS are globally recognized and well-equipped to contribute to the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
